Who Are We?

Connexions International (CXI)

In the 1970's volunteers began tutoring international students, scholars, and their families in English. This volunteer initiative grew into what is now Connexions International. In 2006, CXI was incorporated as a non-profit organization and its mission is to serve international students, scholars, and their families through English classes, conversation partners activities, cultural and social events, sightseeing, and free community education classes that teach quilting, cooking, and other skills. Relying on volunteers who are interested in meeting people from other cultures, Connexions' vision is to see God's grace transforming the world through the people we serve.

Our Mission

Our mission is to work together with international students and scholars and their families to:

  • Cultivate international relationships and friendships ,

  • Conduct English language, cultural and other learning programs that offer value to internationals,

  • Connect with others involved with cross cultural service, and

  • Continue to encourage internationals who have moved to other communities or returned to their home countries.

(Please note: Although our focus is still on international students, we are also currently serving some refugee families as well.)
